The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust is situated in a rural area, where the distances to other population centres are large, and the road network is relatively poor. In response to this the Trust is now running additional acute outpatient clinics and carrying out day surgery procedures at medical centres in a community setting, closer to patients’ homes and work. Fakenham Medical Centre is one of the locations to benefit from this new service provision known as ‘outreach services’.
The Trust has developed a simple vision, to be: ‘The preferred hospital for local people’ and believes that outreach services contribute towards that vision.
The Low Vision Assessment Service is held at Fakenham Medical Practice every other week on a Friday. Read more about this service.

Global Diagnostics has been commissioned by local CCGs to provide an NHS ultrasound and MRI service.
Global Diagnostics is a leading provider of medical imaging services. They are clinically-led and quality driven, ensuring that the patient is at the forefront of everything they do. They aim to improve patient and referrer access to services at multiple locations, assist in reducing the current waiting times and increasing patient and referrer choice of service delivery.
NHS ultrasounds for general examinations (abdominal, pelvis, renal, testes) are available at Fakenham Medical Practice. All MRI and MSK (hand, elbow, shoulder, leg, ankle) examinations are performed at The Global Clinic, Norwich.
Fakenham Medical Practice hosts the Global Diagnostics’ NHS ultrasound clinic every third Wednesday. It is a referral only service – patients referred by their GP will be contacted by the North Norfolk Referral Management Service to agree a convenient appointment date and time.
